Are you an articling student, licensing candidate, newly called lawyer, or junior criminal defence counsel seeking guidance and insight?

The Toronto Lawyers' Association invites you to join our Online Criminal Law Mentoring Program - a monthly opportunity to learn from some of the most experienced and respected criminal defence lawyers in the profession.

Each month, a different seasoned criminal defence lawyer will lead a live mentoring session on Zoom, offering their knowledge, experience, and practical advice. These sessions are designed to be open and interactive, welcoming questions on anything from courtroom procedure and legal strategy to career development and practice management. Whether you're just starting out or simply seeking insight on a tricky issue, this program is for you.

WHY ONLINE? 

At the TLA, we recognize the importance of flexible mentorship and professional development opportunities that fit into the busy lives of our members. That’s why we’ve developed an online mentoring program tailored to criminal lawyers across the city of Toronto. It’s a valuable addition to the educational and community-building initiatives the TLA already offers.

KEY DETAILS 

  • Format: Monthly, live Zoom sessions
  • Mentors: A rotating lineup of experienced criminal defence lawyers
  • Audience: any and all criminal lawyers with a question (or two!)
  • Topics: Procedural, substantive, and career-related questions - all are welcome
  • Cost: Free for TLA members
