How to Access Lexis+ Canada
Lexis+ is available on-site at the TLA Court House Library. All lawyers can access the platform via one of our library computer terminals. Additionally, TLA members can access these valuable resources on their personal devices when connected to the TLA Wi-Fi network.
Overview of Lexis+ Canada Tools
Legal Research
Lexis+ Canada’s updated legal research platform combines familiar Quicklaw tools with enhanced AI capabilities and even more content. Benefit from an extensive collection of case law (over 2.7 million decisions!), legislation, and secondary sources. New features like Lexis Answers and the Boolean Search Tree simplify resource discovery and streamline your research experience.
TLA also offers access to the Pleadings, Motions and Facta Ontario Court Documents database allowing you to explore real court documents – exclusively at the TLA Library!
Lexis+ content includes:
- Canadian case law and legislation including decisions from over 140 boards and tribunals.
- Over 490 textbooks and looseleafs covering 23 areas of law. The collection includes core texts like Sopinka on The Law of Evidence and The Law of Civil Procedure in Ontario.
- Halsbury’s Laws of Canada legal encyclopedia.
- Canadian Forms & Precedents drafting materials.
- Canada Quantums Digests covering a range of topics from Child Support to Wrongful Dismissal.
- Lexis Answers: an AI-powered tool that uses natural language search to find cases that directly answer your question.
- Boolean Search Tree & Search Terms Map: visualize your search terms to identify patterns and potential mistakes.

Legislative Pulse
Stay informed on legislation, bills, and regulations across Canada using Legislative Pulse. This unique tool allows users to locate and track detailed information, from first reading dates to proclamations and in force dates, for all the legislatures across Canada.
Use Legislative Pulse to:
- Search for bills by jurisdiction, session of parliament, bill title, chapter number or amended act.
- Track all bills that were in session in the Federal and Provincial Legislatures from January 2002 to present.
- Track regulations for all jurisdictions expect Quebec from January 2007 to present.
- Get timely updates posted as soon as information is available from official government sources.
Brief Analysis
Leverage Brief Analysis, a new AI-powered tool, for tailored legal analysis and research recommendations. Upload your document to the secure platform and Brief Analysis will produce a report that highlights the key legal concepts, further research recommendations, and supporting decisions to improve your argument.
The data-driven recommendations aim to help you create strong arguments while also validating any research you have already done. Check your own documents to make sure you haven’t missed anything, or upload opposing counsel’s material to look for any weaknesses!
