Committee comprised of representatives of the bench and criminal bar dealing with matters relating to the criminal courts.
3. County and District Law Presidents’ Association (CDLPA):

Liaisons work with CDLPA on behalf of TLA on matters of mutual interest. The Liaison attends the monthly CDLPA executive meetings and the plenary sessions which are held twice a year (May & November).

Meetings chaired by Treasurer of the Law Society and attended by representatives of various legal organizations to discuss issues relating to the Law Society.
5. Regional Courts Management Advisory Committee:

A statutory Committee under sec. 79.2(1) of the Courts of Justice Act, which meets at least once each year. It is responsible for the function of the courts in Toronto and for the better administration of justice.

Committee deals with issues relating to legal aid.
7. Court Facilities:

Represents the interests of TLA, on the Court House User Committee and the Joint Health and Safety Committee regarding the use and upkeep of 361 University Avenue. Pertains to physical facility and retrofit of the building. Now includes participation in planning meetings for the new Toronto West Courthouse.

CJO’s Committee on Professionalism:

This Committee liaises with various legal organizations such as the CJO’s Committee on Professionalism, Ontario Justice Education Network (OJEN), Pathways to Education, Barreau de Montreal and the OBA.
This Committee works on joint projects such as the Grade 5 Mock Trial and Career in Law Day.
In 2011 the Committee will see to establish contact with other legal organizations to promote membership and increase diversity at both the Board level and in the TLA membership, so that TLA reflects more accurately the diversity which is found in Toronto.
